Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were Steve Hornok, Marvin Whitley, Bobby Butler, Dan Forbes, Jimmy Surace, George Hedgepeth, Edgar Blythe and Jimmy Walker. Allen died Dec. 17 in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a brief illness. A native of Lawrence, S.C., he was a son of William Henry and Mrs. Lulu Thompson Allen and husband of Mrs. Sarah Lee Scott Allen. He was a member of Hunterdale Christian Church and was employed at the St. Regis Paper Co. Besides his wife, surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Christine Cole; one son, Michael Roy Allen of Franklin; one sister, Mrs. Veronka Rideout of Franklin and two grandchildren, Troy and Wendy Cole.
