BABB, PROMINENT CITIZEN BURIED TODAY IVOR - Funeral services for Benjamin Franklin Babb, who died Tuesday, were conducted today at 3 p.m. Officiating was the Rev. L.P. Bland, pastor of the Ivor Methodist Church, of which he was a member. Burial was in the Ivor Cemetery. A lifelong resident of Ivor, he had been in the gasoline station business since 1935. He was a member of the Ivor Town Council, past president of the Ivor Ruritan Club, past master of the Ivor Masonic Lodge and veteran of World War II. He attended the College of William and Mary. The body was taken from the Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield to the church at 1 p.m. Masonic rites were conducted. Mr. Babb was 50 years old, the son of the late Dr. B.F. Babb and Mrs. Bertha White Babb. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Leonor Riopel Babb; two sisters, Mrs. L.G. Conner of Norfolk; and Mrs. Gordon R. Smith of Richmond; two brothers, Charlie W. Babb of Norfolk and Shelton H. Babb of Ivor.
