He was a son of Vernon Thomas and Mrs. Nannie Lee Sims Babb of Southampton County and a member of Sebrell Methodist Church. Surviving are two sons, Raymond Thomas Babb of Augustus, Kan., Willie Lawrence Babb of Sebrell; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Ann Bogdan of Emporia; four brothers; George Thomas Babb, Cecil Babb and Vernon Davis Babb of Sebrell and Herbert Babb of Suffolk; four sisters, Mrs. J.E. Burkette of Emporia, Mrs. Alma Norris of Fayetteville, N.C., Mrs. Thomas Sewell and Miss Mary Edith Babb of Norfolk. A funeral service was conducted in Holland Funeral Home here Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. by the Rev. M.H. Moreland of Sebrell Methodist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were J.P. Simmons, Malcolm Simmons, S.V. Camp, W.N. Whitehead, Lewis Babb and Emerson Kitchen.
