Babb, died early Wednesday on the way to Raiford Memorial Hospital. A lifelong resident of Sebrell community, she was a daughter of Edward and Mrs. Victoria Hedgepeth Simms. She was a member of the Sebrell Methodist Church. Besides her husband, surviving are four sons, George Babb, Cecil Babb and David Babb of Sebrell and Herbert Babb of Suffolk; four daughters, Mrs. J.A. Burkette of Emporia, Mrs. Alma Norris of Fayetteville, N.C., and Mrs. Nancy Sewell and Miss Mary Babb of Norfolk; a sister, Miss Lizzie Simms of Norfolk; three brothers, Edward Simms of Courtland and Thomas Simms of Sedley and John Simms of Wakefield; 15 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. A funeral service was conducted in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. J.H. Moreland of Sebrell Methodist Church. Burial was in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. Pallbearers were: Lewis Babb, Willie Whitehead, Leslie Whitehead, Malcolm Simmons, J.P. Simmons and Stafford Camp, Jr. "Nannie" Nancy Leigh (SIMMS; Mrs. Vernon T.)
