He was a native of Southampton County and the husband of Margaret Manry Babb. He was an Army veteran of World War II, a retired fireman with Johns- Manville of Jarratt, Va., and a member of the Courtland United Methodist Church. Surviving besides his wife are three daughters, Margaret B. Harrell and Gertrude B. Sexton, both of Emporia, Ann Jones of San Jose, Calif., a son Robert W. Babb of Jarratt; two sisters, Mrs. Eunice Vaughan of Petersburg and Mrs. Virgie Jenkins of Colonial Heights; ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 P.M. Wednesday in the Courtland United Methodist Church by the Rev. Luther Marks. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home, Franklin from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday.
