Mr. Babb was a native of Southampton County and a member of Sebrell Methodist Church. Surviving are four sons, George T. and Vernon D. Babb of Sebrell, Herbert Babb of Suffolk and Cecil Babb of Portsmouth; four daughters, Mrs. Ruby Birkett of Emporia, Mrs. Mary Babb and Mrs. Nancy Sewell of Norfolk and Alma Norris of Fayetteville, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida White of Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Gracie Barnes of Courtland; two brothers, George and Peter Babb, both of Courtland; 17 grandchildren and six great grandchildren. A funeral service was held at 3 p.m. Friday at the W.J.M. Holland and Sons Funeral Home, with burial in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.
