All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM PAUL BOBBITT William Paul Bobbitt, 78, well-known resident and former employee of the Camp Manufacturing Company of Franklin, died at the home of his daughter, Pearl Bobbitt Byrd, Thursday morning after an illness of many months. Bobbitt, a resident of Franklin for many years, was born in Sussex County and moved to Franklin in early childhood. He was employed by the Camp Manufacturing Company as foreman of a sawmill and was retired a few years ago. He was the son of the late Thomas Francis and Margaret Whitehead Bobbitt of Sussex County and husband of the late Avie Joyner Bobbitt of Franklin. He was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Franklin. Surviving him are four daughters, Mrs. Dora Duffy and Mrs. Pearl Bobbitt Byrd of Franklin; Mrs. Hattie Russell and Mrs. Maud Cobb, of Richmond; 13 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and three sisters, Mrs. E.G. Harmon of Norfolk; Mrs. Annie Rowland of Richmond and Mrs. S.B. Harrison of Hickory. The body was taken to the Holland Funeral Home, where funeral services were held Friday at 3:30 p.m. the Rev. Robert M. Kimball officiating. Interment followed at the Poplar Spring Cemetery. Active pallbearers were: W.O. Modlin, George Steinbach, Fred Parker, Sam Powell, J.
