CANDANCE ALLIE PERRY BASS

   Mrs. Candance A. Bass, age 50, wife of Kader R. Bass, of Courtland 
community, died Monday morning suddenly after a second apoplectic stroke.  She 
was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George L. Perry of North Carolina.

   Besides her husband, she is survived by four sons, George, Wilbur and 
Edward Bass, of Courtland and Roy Bass, of Honolulu; four daughters, Misses 
Doris and Emogene Bass, of Courtland and Mrs. J.S. Raiford of Sedley and Mrs. 
Walter Bradshaw of Franklin; four sisters, Mrs. E.L. Dale of Suffolk, Mrs. 
Walter Bowen of Portsmouth, Mrs. B.H. Ward of Edenton, and Mrs. Bill Anderson 
of Norfolk; five grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

   Services were conducted from the residence near Courtland by the Rev. John 
B. Isom of Courtland Baptist Church at 3 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, burial 
taking place in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland.  Pallbearers were Kermit Perry, 
Carroll Bowen, Lewis Smith, Sanford Bass, Starkey Perry, Reuben Bass, Zachary 
Perry and Johnnie Bass.
