THOMAS EARL BASS

   Thomas Earl Bass, aged 24, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kader Bass, died at the home 
of his parents Sunday, February 25.

   He was a member of the Courtland Baptist Church and numbered many friends 
although he had made his home in Courtland for only a few years.

   Besides his parents and wife, who before her marriage was Miss Virginia 
Epps Edwards of Courtland, he is survived by a son, Thomas Earl Bass, Jr.; 
four sisters, Mrs. Shelton Raiford of Sedley, Misses Eula, Doris and Imogene 
Bass; four brothers, George, Wilbur, Edward and Ray Bass.

   Funeral services were held at the home of his parents Monday afternoon at 
2:30 conducted by Rev. H.F. Turner.  Burial was made in Riverside Cemetery, 
the active pallbearers being W.B. Ellis, W.T. Joyner, Otis Joyner, Edgar 
Pierce, Sidney Ward, Aubrey Ward, C.W. Parker and D.C. Magette.
