BISHOP FRANKLIN - Calvin Turner Bishop, 49, of 400 First Ave. died Wednesday morning in Medical College of Virginia, Richmond, after a long illness. A native of Rawlings, Brunswick County, he was a son of the late James T. and Mrs. Nina Settle Bishop and the husband of Mrs. Ruby Beamon Bishop. He was a naval aviator in World War II and was in the construction business 27 years. He was a member of Lebanon United Methodist Church, Rawlings. He was a graduate of Randolph-Macon College. Besides his widow, surviving are a daughter, Miss Mary Carol Bishop, a son, Herbert Taylor Bishop, and a sister, Mrs. Marie Bishop Daniel, all of Franklin. A funeral service will be held Friday at 11 a.m. in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. Robert Fridley. Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ira D. Hudgins and the Rev. Robert D. Fridley. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Robert Howell, Howard Cotton, Dr. William Settle, W.E. Jones, Jesse Harrison, Marvin M. Revell, Steven Bishop and Claud Vernon Bishop, Jr. Bishop, 49, of 400 First Ave., died Wednesday morning in Medical College of Virginia, Richmond after a long illness.
