Holland and Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. L.W. George of Mt. Horeb Methodist Church. Burial was at Poplar Spring Cemetery. She died Sunday morning in Southampton Memorial Hospital after a long illness. A native of Southampton County, she was a daughter of Nathaniel D. and Mrs. Eva Woodard Bryant and wife of Samuel S. Bishop. She was a member of Mt. Horeb Methodist Church. Besides her husband, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lucye B. Stephenson of Como, N.C., and Mrs. Mildred B. Crumpler of Virginia Beach; and five grandchildren. Pallbearers were Simpson E. Porter, Benjamin Bryant, John Bryant, Archie Church, Franklin Bryant, J.L. Porter, James Dunlow and W.R. Bishop.
