A native of Southampton County, he was a retired farmer and member of Mt. Horeb United Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Lucye B. Stephenson of Como, N.C., and Mrs. Mildred B. Crumpler of Virginia Beach; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be held today at noon in W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, by the Rev. Harry Bunch. Burial will be in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
