William E. Hawkins and Dr. R.E. Brittle. Burial was in Southampton Memorial Park. Pallbearers were: George Drewry, Raymond George, Mike Hunnings, Donald Hamic, I.B. Gerald, Barry Lane Sr., Ralph Byrum, and Lewis Best. Mrs. Best died Friday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. A native of Bolton, N.C., she was the widow of Zeno Best. Her deceased parents were Dora Delia Newell and Armlin Baldwin. She was a Baptist. Survivors include seven grandchildren, Grace Watson Lane, Julie Best Hamic, Lorraine B. Musselman, Edith Kay Watson, Jane Hudson Best, Marvin C. Best, Jr., and Chris Coley; and two great-grandchildren, Sheryl and Barry Lane.
