LOE ELLIE BASSETT

   FRANKLIN - Loe Ellie Bassett, age 67, retired business man died at his home 
Tuesday afternoon after heart attack.  He was the husband of Mrs. Lizzie 
Cooper Bassett, and the son of the late Thomas W. and Mary Louise Knight 
Bassett of Suffolk.

   He was a member of the Franklin Congregational Christian Church.  Surviving 
besides his wife are two sisters, Mrs. F.L. Matthews, of Virginia, and Mrs. 
Edward Holland, of Atlanta. Five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. 
Two brothers; Simmie, and Frank Bassett, both Smithfield, Virginia.

   Funeral services will be held from the Holland Funeral Chapel Thursday at 
2:00 p.m. by the Rev. St. Elmo Nauman, of the Franklin Congregational 
Christian Church.  Burial will be made in Poplar Spring Cemetery.
