ROBERT EDWARD BAUGHAM

   BOYKINS - A funeral service for Robert Edward Baugham, 74, was held 
Friday at 11 a.m. in Beechwood Cemetery, Boykins, by the Rev. G. Durham 
Ipock.  McDowell Funeral Home was in charge.

   Baugham died Wednesday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Carrie 
Griffin Baugham.

   He owned and operated Twin States Exxon station.  A member of Boykins 
Baptist Church, he was also past president of Meherrin Valley Coin Club, 
and a charter and honorary member of Boykins Volunteer Fire Department.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Baker of Courtland; a 
son, Robert E. Baugham Jr., of Sedley; two sisters, Mrs. Lillie Johnson 
of Capron and Mrs. Susie Underwood of Franklin; a brother, Olie Baugham 
of Stony Creek; and five grandchildren.
