All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ WILLIAM HENRY BAUGHAM William Henry Baugham, 68, a well-known resident and farmer of Capron, died at his residence in that town on Saturday afternoon, January 1, after an illness of many months. The deceased, who was the son of the late James Norfleet and Patsy Gardner Baugham, was born in Northampton County, N.C., moving to the Capron community some fifty years ago. He was a member of the Capron Baptist Church, in which he served as a deacon for more than thirty years. Surviving him are his wife, Mrs. Maude Minton Baugham of Capron; four daughters, Mrs. D.E. Johnson, Mrs. Emmett Applewhite and Mrs. Ivey Underwood, all of Courtland, and Mrs. Willie Johnson of Capron; two sons, J.O. and R.E. Baugham of Boykins; nine grandchildren; five brothers, A.J. Baugham of Newsoms, J.C. and George Baugham of Ahoskie, N.C., and Tom and Judd Baugham of Aulander, N.C.; two sisters, Mrs. Norman Hall of Ahoskie, N,C, and Mrs. L.B. Knight of Aulander; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at the Capron Baptist Church on Sunday afternoon at two o’clock, the pastor, Rev. H.B. Jennings, being assisted by Rev. A.W. Coates of Alexandria, a former pastor, and Rev. R.H. Marks of Capron. Interment was in the Capron Cemetery, the active pallbearers being Roland B. Vaughan, Dr. J.J. Grizzard, W.H. Story, L.R. Magee, V.S. Pittman, W.E. Miles, Irving Baker and J.E.
