He was the husband of Mrs. Bessie Grissom Baker and the son of the late Levi and Elizabeth Norvell Baker. He was a native of Hertford, N.C., a retired farmer and an employee of the Cobb Motor Co. Surviving besides his wife, are one daughter, Mrs. Lilly Gray Baker Ketner of North Augusta, S.C.; one son, C.C. Baker, Jr. of Courtland; three brothers, Richard W. Baker of Colerain, N.C. Jesse Wade Baker of Hollywood, Fla., John L. Baker of Orlando, Fla.; five grandchildren. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 2:30 P.M. in the Courtland Baptist Church, by the Rev. Edmund Ellis and the Rev. William Downs. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery.
