Ford and Randolph Phillips. McDowell Funeral Home of Boykins was in charge. Pallbearers were: Owen Moore, Baker Moore, William White, Russell White, William Baker, Frank Birdsall, Roger Drake and Grove Barrett. Baker died Friday in a hospital. A native of Capron, he was a deacon and a past Sunday school superintendent at Capron Baptist Church. He was an Air Force* Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Lucy Britt Baker, and five sisters, Mary Sue Baker, Florence Baker and Augusta Baker, all of Capron, Grace Moore of Emporia and Eunice Birdsall of Afton. Memorial donations may be made to the Capron Rescue Squad or to the Capron Baptist Church. Roland's Death Certificate, #82-034216, gives his father as William Parley Baker - the name of Roland's brother - but the marker gives only "Parley Baker." Roland's widow Lucy was the informant.
