Ira D. Hudgins. Burial was in the Cedar Hill Cemetery, Suffolk. Baker died Friday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Southampton County and a former resident of Suffolk. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Beatrice Horton Baker and a member of Franklin Baptist Church. He was a retired, 40-year agent with Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Mary Ann Jakeman of Franklin and Mrs. Rozelle Harrell of Waynesville, N.C.; five sisters, Miss Mary Sue Baker, Miss Florence Baker and Miss Augusta Baker of Capron, Mrs. Grace Moore of Emporia and Mrs. Eunice Birdsall of Afton, Va.; two brothers, Roland Baker and Irving Baker of Capron; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the Franklin Baptist Church of Franklin Rescue Squad.
