EMMETT ORVIN BEDFORD

   FRANKLIN - A funeral service for Emmett O. Bedford, 76, was held Monday 
at 3 p.m. in Southampton Memorial Park by the Revs. Richard T. Dickmann and 
Waverly Horne.  Wright Funeral Home was in charge.

   Pallbearers were: Jesse Harrison, Jimmy Bryant, N.T. Duck, Bill Hastings, 
Guy Picot, Buck Dickens, William Drewry, Ed Blythe and Henry Bryant.

   Bedford died Saturday in Southampton Memorial Hospital.

   A native of Goldsboro, N.C., he was the husband of Mrs. Hannah Crawley 
Bedford.

   He was a retired agent of Citizens Home Insurance Co.  He was a Baptist.

   Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Carole Goldstein of West 
Bloomfield, Mich.; a son, Kenneth G. Bedford of Franklin; and three 
grandchildren.
