All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LILLIAN GERTRUDE BRYANT BITTLE Mrs. Gertrude Bryant Bittle of Como, died at a Suffolk hospital, Wednesday, November 2, after an illness of about a week, at the age of 44 years. She was the wife of Lloyd H. Bittle and was a native of Hertford County and the oldest daughter of Mrs. William E. Bryant. Besides her husband and mother she is survived by four sisters, Mrs. J.V. Simmons of Newsoms, Mrs. Frank Railey of Como, Mrs. S.R. Simmons of Newsoms, Mrs. Louis Zehrbach of Franklin; three brothers, Pittman O. Bryant of Hampton, John E. Bryant of Boykins and Ernest M. Bryant of Elizabeth City. The funeral was conducted from the residence near Como, Thursday afternoon at 2:30 by her Pastor, Rev. A.K. Lambdin, assisted by a former Pastor, Rev. R.H. Marks of Capron, and Rev. Frank B. Handley of Boykins. The active pallbearers were: Frank Pope, Fred Brown, James Story, Dillard Riddick, Fred Baggett, Guy Hill, Russell Britt and Dennis Britt.
