BUTLER DEAD END BRINGS RELIEF AFTER MONTHS OF SUFFERING - FUNERAL SERVICE Mrs. Laura Brittle Butler, wife of Rev. Murdock W. Butler, pastor of the East End Christian Church, died yesterday afternoon at 2:40 o'clock at her home, 1033 Twenty-third Street, after a lingering illness from a complication of diseases. Death brought relief from six months of suffering. Funeral services will be conducted at the East End Christian church this afternoon at 1 o'clock by Rev. W.W. Staley, D.D., of Suffolk. The body will be taken to Berkley on the 2:30 o'clock boat and at 5 o'clock will be interred in the Berkley cemetery. The pallbearers will be: Messers, J.W. Thompson, G.C. Wright, J.H. Finnamore, James Jernigan, J.J. Baker and A.B. Tayler. Mrs. Butler was a daughter of Mr. G.G.G. Brittle, of Ivor, Va. She was born at Ivor on August 29, 1864. On December 21, 1882, she was married to Mr. Butler. She was a devout and sincere Christian, and her death is mourned by a large circle of friends here and in other places where she was known. She is survived by her husband and two children, a daughter 15 years old and a son 13. The family came here on November 1, 1906, when Mr. Butler became pastor of the East End Christian Church.
