BOWDEN Mrs. J.T. Bowden died Saturday morning December 29, 1917, at her home at Ivor, Va., after an illness about three months. She was born September 16, 1844. Funeral services was conducted at the home by Mr. J.W. Reams. Her body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Millfield Church, Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock. Early in life she gave her heart to God and become a member of the Baptist Church, from this time on she was a consistent member and a consecrated child of God - her most pleasant work was in serving the Lord and following in the foot prints of her master. She is survived by a husband and six children as follows: Rev. R.H. Bowden, Tarboro, N.C. Rev. T.J. Bowden, Owenton, Ky., E.B. Bowden, Charlottesville, Va., Mrs. C.E. Burt, Dendron, Va., Mrs. J.O. Cofer, Wakefield, Va., Mrs. A.D. Hundley, Ivor, Va. There has gone from our midst a quiet retiring Christian a conscientious and devoted mother a true neighbor and friend.
