All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ BLANCHE ANTOINETTE BEATON MISS BLANCHE BEATON FORMERLY OF SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY, DIES IN PORTSMOUTH Miss Blanche Antoinette Beaton, daughter of the late William Massenburg Beaton and Mrs. Antoinette Majette Beaton, of Southampton County, died Sunday afternoon in her apartment, 217 Court Street, Portsmouth. She had been ill for some time. Miss Beaton is survived by three sisters, Miss Zula Beaton, Mrs. Charles Licklider and Mrs. M.A. Mansoni, of Portsmouth; a brother, William M. Beaton, Jr. of Clayton, Washington, and numerous other relatives. Miss Beaton was a member of Monumental Methodist Church, Portsmouth, and widely known and esteemed. The body was brought on the Seaboard Air Line to Boykins Tuesday morning. Funeral services were held immediately following arrival at Boykins Methodist Church, Rev. C.H. Williams, officiating. Music was furnished by the choir. The pallbearers were: C.T. Beaton, N.S. Beaton, S.J. Myrick, E.R. Bryant, R.C. Knight and Dr. J.M. Bland. Interment was made in Beechwood Cemetery.
