All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CHARLES EDGAR BEATON FRANKLIN - Charles Edgar Beaton, 70, a retired car salesman, of the 400 block of Old Sedley Road, died Oct. 25, in a hospital. Mr. Beaton, a native of Boykins, had retired from several Chevrolet dealerships in Franklin. Previously, he had worked for the federal government’s Department of Health and Welfare in Alexandria. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Franklin United Methodist Church, the Franklin American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was a graduate of Chowan College and T.C. Williams Business School, which is now a law school in Richmond. Survivors include his wife, Minnie Thomas Gillette Beaton; a daughter, Teresa Charles Beaton Beale of Courtland; and a brother, Norman S. Beaton of Havlock, N.C. The graveside service was conducted Tuesday in Poplar Spring Cemetery by the Rev. John A. Siegle. Memorial donations may be made to the High Street United Methodist Church or to a charity of one’s choice. Wright Funeral Home, Franklin, handled arrangements.
