  Captain George D. Bealton, formerly of Southampton 
county, died this morning at the residence of his son. 
The deceased was fifty-one years of age, and was a gallant 
soldier in the war.  The remains will be sent to 
Southampton for interment.

The (recopied) Southampton Co. Death Records (1853-1890) give the following: 
   Beaton, George E., d. 7 Jul 1892, age 54, 
      sn/o E. & M. Beaton {orig.p. 6 #24} 
   (Southampton Co. Death Records {1853-1890}, p. 87) 

He appears in the 1850 Census (St Luke's P'sh, p. 258b, dwl/fam 296), 
   age 12, with father Edward (37), stepmother Susanna A. (20), and siblings. 
   Part of the family is rendered BEYTON.

He appears in the 1870 Census (Boykins Twp., p. 155b, dwl/fam 116), 
   a merchant, age 33, with wife Jennie O. (30) & son George N. (7).
