MARGARET BOWDEN Mrs. Margaret Bowden, 82, died in the home in Victoria of her daughter, Mrs. Margaret DuPriest on Wednesday, May 23, after a lingering illness. Mrs. Bowden was the widow of L.S. Bowden and daughter of the late Robert and Martha Drewry of Southampton County. She was a member of the Black Creek Baptist Church. Surviving her are two daughters, Mrs. Claude Raiford of Alexandria and Mrs. Margaret DuPriest of Victoria; two sons, Ray Bowden of Victoria and Gussie Bowden of Bedford; one sister, Mrs. Minnie Turner of Zuni; one brother Charlie Drewry of Walters; and 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. After funeral services in Victoria for Mrs. Bowden her remains were interred in Black Creek Cemetery. The many acts of kindness and the beautiful flowers bestowed on "Grandma" Bowden during her last illness were testimony of a long life spent in service for others. [Margaret (DREWRY; Mrs. L.S.)
