ARTHUR JULIAN BEALE

   Arthur Julian Beale, 57, a lifelong resident of the Sedley community, 
died in Raiford Memorial Hospital on Thursday night, June 9, after a brief 
illness.

   Mr. Beale is the son of the late Willie and Effie Turner Beale of 
Southampton County.  He is a member of Black Creek Baptist Church and an 
employee of the St. Regis Paper Company.

   Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Janie Cobb Beale; two sons, David Elton and 
James Thornton Beale of Sedley; two daughters, Helen Julia and Wilma Faye 
Beale, also of Sedley; and two sisters, Mrs. Olin D. Drake and Mrs. C.E. 
Womble, both of Franklin.

   Funeral services were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on 
Sunday afternoon at 2 o’clock, with Rev. L.B. Allen, pastor of Black Creek 
Baptist Church, officiating.  Interment was in the family cemetery near Sedley.

   Pallbearers were Mills Beale, Sr., Willie Bradshaw, Jack Bryant, W.S. 
Bulls, Claude Johnson, Buster Joyner, Wilson Rose and Allen Saunders
