Boone CHESAPEAKE--Mrs. Beryl Vaughan Boone, 76, of 108 Patton Place (Princeton Halls) died Saturday in a hospital. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was the widow of Joe Gay Boone. She was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church; Ladies Auxiliary of World War I Veterans; South Norfolk Barracks 1022; and Portlock Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lois B. Carey of Chesapeake; two sons, Joe Gay Boone, Jr. of Norfolk and Jim Boone of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. A funeral will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in Raleigh Heights Baptist Church by the Rev. Henry V. Napier. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Mrs. Boone and her late husband, Joe Gay Boone, were long time residents of Franklin. She was a native of Isle of Wight County, and a daughter of the late Jim Vaughan and Cornelia Scott Vaughan of Carrsville. She was a member of Raleigh Heights Baptist Church; Ladies Auxiliary of World War I Veterans, South Norfolk Barracks 1022, and Portlock Senior Citizens Club. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Lois B. Carey of Chesapeake; two sons, Joe Gay Boone, Jr., of Norfolk, and Jim Boone, of Chesapeake; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
