BRANCH ASHBY BAILEY

   IVOR - Branch Ashby Bailey, 79, died Oct. 18, in his home.

   Mr. Bailey, a Norfolk native, had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard. 
He was a member of Ivor Baptist Church and the Ivor Hunt Club.  He formerly 
worked for Kea Supply Co. in Ivor.

   Survivors include his wife, Myrtie Clark Bailey; four daughters, Barbara 
M. Nelms of Smithfield, Rebecca M. Biron of Winston-Salem, N.C., Jane M. 
Wiltermood of Aurora, Ill., and Joan B. Cook of Ivor; a son, Ashby L. Bailey 
of Suffolk; two sisters, Catherine B. Brown of Sedley and Frances B. Britt 
of Waverly; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

   The funeral was conducted Tuesday in Purviance Funeral Home in Wakefield 
by the Rev. Irvin Acree.  Burial was in Ivor Cemetery.

   Memorial donations may be made to the Ivor Volunteer Fire Department or 
to the Ivor Rescue Squad.
