All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ CORINNE FOREHAND BELL Funeral services for Mrs. Corinne Forehand Bell, 73, long resident of Franklin who died Sunday afternoon at 5:30 o’clock at the Raiford Memorial Hospital after an illness of several weeks, were conducted Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. with burial in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The Rev. James W. Turner, pastor of High Street Methodist Church, officiated at the services, which were held at the Holland funeral chapel. Mrs. Bell was active in her church work until she became ill. She was the wife of the late James Nicholas Bell of Franklin and the daughter of the late James Martin and Bessie Adkins Forehand of Chowan County in North Carolina. She leaves one daughter, Mrs. James Henry; a sister, Mrs. T.C. Byrum, of Edenton, N.C., and four brothers, Alma, Elton and Lester Forehand of Murfreesboro, N.C.; also two grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Harry Steinhardt, Cecil C. Vaughan, 3rd, Dr. Henry L. Gardner, Willie M. Weede, Edgar Jackson, J.D. Fowler, Joe P. King, Sr., and Henry Fitzgerald. Honorary pallbearers were friends of the family.
