Eric Alexie. Wright Funeral Home of Franklin was in charge. Bell died Thursday in a hospital. A native of Southampton County, he was a former mayor Capron. He was a retired farmer and businessman, having been associated with Columbian Peanut Co. He was a member of Capron United Methodist Church and a charter member of the Capron Ruritan Club. Survivors include his wife Marion Cobb Bell; two sisters, Margaret B. Gorti of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Julia B. Godfrey of Portsmouth; and four brothers, Sheppard C. Bell of Capron, William P. Bell and Wesley G. Bell, both of Portsmouth and Earl E. Bell of Leesburg. Memorial donations may be made to the Capron Rescue Squad.
