All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ EFFIE DAUGHTREY BEALE Mrs. Effie Daughtrey Beale, 62, daughter of the late Joseph John and Annie Moore Daughtrey, of Isle of Wight County, died at her home near Franklin Monday morning after a long illness. Surviving her are her husband, James M. Beale; five daughters, Mrs. Helen Jones, Norfolk, Miss Effie L. Beale, Selbyville, Delaware, Mrs. Mary Hitchens, Ocean View, Delaware, Mrs. Emily Matacia, Norfolk, and Miss Virginia Beale, Franklin; one son, Edwin F. Beale, Smithfield, N.C.; three grandchildren, Jimmie Hitchens, Edwin F. Beale, Jr. and Marilyn Matacia; one sister, Mrs. M.R. Reid, Norfolk; three brothers, J. Hurley Daughtrey, and Romie H. Daughtrey, Bayboro, N.C., and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services were conducted at the home Tuesday afternoon at two o’clock by the Rev. R.D. Stephenson of the Franklin Baptist Church, with special music sung by S.A. Libscomb, Jr. Burial was made in the Solomon Beale plot near the home. Active pallbearers were Elmer Daughtrey, Julian Daughtrey, W. Jasper Daughtrey, J.O.H. Daughtrey, W. Hunter Scott and Sam Cutchins. Effie (DAUGHTREY; Mrs. James M.)
