Holland & Sons Funeral Home by the Rev. Ellis Clark and the Rev. St. Elmo Nauman. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family suggested that contributions be made to the American Cancer Society. Pallbearers were Frank Johnson, Jasper Carr, Leonard Rose, Cecil Redd, Charles Redd, Lonnie Carr, Ballard Lowe, Robert Simmons. Mrs. Beale, 77 died Friday morning in a hospital. A native of Isle of Wight County, she was a daughter of Elisha Everett and Mrs. Mary Lou Stephenson Gay and the widow of Edwin William Beale Sr. She was a member of Mt. Carmel Christian Church. She is survived by a son, Edwin William Beale, Jr. of Franklin; two sisters, Mrs. Ogie Bland of Windsor and Mrs. Eunice Joyner of Walters; a brother Arthur Gay of Walters; and two grandsons; Edwin William Beale III and James A.
