BAILEY FRANKLIN - Funeral services for Harvey Lee Bailey will be conducted Tuesday at 2 p.m. in the W.J.M. Holland Funeral Home by the Rev. L.F. Smith, pastor of South Quay Baptist Church. Burial will be Sycamore Church Cemetery. Mr. Bailey, 68, retired operator of the Virginia Transit Company in Norfolk, died Sunday in McGuire Veterans Hospital, Richmond. A native of Southampton County, He was the husband of Mrs. Julia D. Powell Bailey. His parents were Franklin C. and Mrs. Annie Harcum Bailey. He was a member of Sunbeam Baptist Church and was with the 29th Infantry Division in Europe during World War I. Besides his widow, surviving are a son, Franklin Powell Bailey of Norfolk; four brothers, O.M. Bailey of Como, N.C., Robert G. Bailey of Franklin, Waverly F. Beily and Howard T. Bailey of Suffolk; two sisters, Mrs. Milton Worrell of Newsoms and Mrs. Mae Jenkins of Portsmouth; three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
