HOWARD HUDSON BAILEY

   Newsoms - Howard Hudson Bailey, 88, died Feb. 26, 2004 at Southampton 
Memorial Hospital.  Born in Southampton County and reared in Como, N.C., 
he was one of 11 children of the late Frank C. and Annie Harcum Bailey. 
Survivors include a sister, Odell B. Worrell of Newsoms; and many nieces and 
nephews.  A funeral was to be held at 11 a.m. Feb. 28, 2004, in Wright Funeral 
Home, Franklin, with the Rev. Dr. Gray Hartman officiating.  Burial was to 
follow in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family was to receive friends 
at the residence and suggests memorials be made to Newsoms United Methodist 
Church, c/o Jenny Bunn, P.O. Box  297, Newsoms, VA 23874 of Southampton 
Memorial Hospital, 100 Fairview Drive, Franklin, VA 23851.
