Beale, 47, owner and operator of the Airport Inn, near Franklin, died suddenly of a heart attack at his Isle of Wight County home on Friday night, August 22. The deceased was husband of Mrs. Elizabeth Edwards Beale, and the son of the late Robert E. Beale and Mrs. Katie Kelly* Beale. He was a member of the Courtland Baptist Church. Besides his wife, he is survived by an aunt, Mrs. I.J. Jones, and an uncle, T.S. Jones, both of Franklin. Funeral services for Mr. Beale were conducted in the chapel of W.J.M. Holland & Sons on Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock by Rev. W.A. Grissom, pastor of the Franklin Congregational Church. Interment was in in the family cemetery on the George's Bend plantation, near South Quay. Active pallbearers were R.H. Allen, Allen Doughty, George Galtress, W.G. O'Brien, Marvin Porter, Sam Powell, Alton L. Vick and Lt. Harold W. Burgess of the State Police Department.
