HENRY EDWARD BAILEY 

   NEWSOMS - A funeral service for Henry Edward Bailey, 83, of Newsoms was 
held Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. in Newsoms Cemetery by the Rev. Harry Bunch and 
the Rev. Kenneth Williams

   W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home, Franklin, was in charge.

   Pallbearers were his grandsons, Jerry Wilson, Tommy Wilson, Steve Wilson, 
Gregory Wilson, Billy Stephenson and Randolph Allen of Williamston.

   Bailey died Sunday in a Norfolk hospital.

   A native of Southampton County, he was the husband of Mrs. Elizabeth 
Burbage Bailey.

   He was a prominent farmer and member of the United Methodist Church. 
He was also a member of the Newsoms Ruritan Club.

   Besides his widow, survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Dennis A. Wilson 
of Virginia Beach and Mrs. Willis W. Stephenson of Chesapeake; eight 
grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
