All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ LILLIAN OVERTON BEALE COURTLAND - A funeral service for Miss Lillian Overton Beale was conducted Monday at 2 p.m. in St. Luke Episcopal Church, Courtland, by the Rev. L. Paul Schwartz assisted by the Rev. Robert E. Davis of Emanuel Episcopal Church, Franklin. Burial was in the family cemetery near Handsom, with W.J.M. Holland & Sons Funeral Home in charge. Pallbearers were Beamon Davis, Charlie B. Harding, W.R. Bishop, Roswell Hart, E.E. Drake and Charles Urquhart. Miss Beale, 60*, died late Friday in an automobile-truck accident on highway Rt. 684 near Monroe Bridge. A native of Southampton County she was the daughter of the late William Evans and Mrs. Lillian Johnson Beale. She was a member of St. Luke Episcopal Church, Courtland and was employed by the Virginia Highway Department in the Suffolk office for the past 30 years. Her only survivor is a brother, William Evans Beale of the home. Lillian Overton BEALE, 30-year Hwy.
