Bailey, widow of J.M. Bailey of Isle of Wight County, died Sunday morning after an illness of several weeks. Mrs. Bailey was 91. Surviving her are three daughters, Mrs. J.E. Whitfield of Norfolk, Mrs. John D. McClenny and Mrs. L.R. Griffin, both of Franklin; two sons, W.J. Bailey of Suffolk and R.M. Bailey of Ivor; a brother, W.E. Beale and a sister, Mrs. Fannie Atkins, both of Smithfield; 15 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Services were conducted from Tucker Swamp Baptist Church Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock by the Rev. J.L. Kissinger, pastor, and the Rev. J.T. Garland Moore of Beaver Dam Baptist Church. Pallbearers were Fenton, Sherman and Frank Johnson, Lonnie McClenny, George and Reese Whitfield and Hyden and Robert Bailey. Martha "Mattie" S. (BEALE; Mrs. James M.)
