She had been a resident of Ivor for more than 60 years. She was a member of Ivor Baptist Church, where she once held a perfect attendance record for 16 consecutive years. She also held four certificates for each complete reading of the Bible and served as treasurer of the adult Bible class for 20 years. She was the daughter of the late James William Clark and Annie Holloway Clark. She was predeceased by her first husband, John E. Munford; her second husband, Branch A. Bailey; a daughter, Barbara Munford Nelms; four brothers, James, Henry, Sam and Leroy Clark; and four sisters, Virgie Clark Gwaltney, Lula Clark Pittman, Bessie Clark Oliver and Edith Clark McPherson. She is survived by three daughters, Rebecca Munford Crumpler Biron of Smithfield, Janey Munford Wiltermood of Courtland and Joan Bailey Cook of Ivor; a son, Ashby L. Bailey of Zuni; and nine grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren. A funeral service was held at Purviance Funeral Home Chapel in Wakefield, officiated by the Rev. Irvin Acree and the Rev. Steve Gupton. Burial was in Ivor Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Ivor Volunteer Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 228, Ivor, VA 23866 or Ivor Baptist Church, P.O. Box 310, Ivor, VA 23866.
