Beale died suddenly at her home in South High Street Tuesday afternoon. She had been ill for several weeks but was considered much better when she sustained a heart attack from which she died not rally. Mrs. Beale, the former Miss Ethlyn Scott, was the daughter of the late Rufus Butler Scott and Mrs. Mary Maddox Scott of Franklin and was 44 years of age. She was a graduate of the University of Richmond, a member of the Franklin Baptist Church and an active and useful member of the Helen Henderson Circle of the Woman’s Missionary Soceity. A woman of many attractive qualities of heart and mind, she is survived by her husband; a daughter, Miss Mary Maddox Beale of Franklin; a brother, Councill M. Scott, and a half-sister, Mrs. Elizabeth S. Bryan, both of Raleigh. Funeral services were conducted from the home yesterday afternoon at 2 o’clock by her pastor, the Rev. R.D. Stephenson and burial was made in Poplar Spring Cemetery. The pallbearers were: James I. Beale, Jr., G. Carl Steinhardt, B.T. Watkins, Ernest L. Beale, J. Fenton Matthews, Edward F. Gilliam, Lloyd A.
