All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ MILLS BEALE Mills Beale, 80, well known farmer of this county, died last Saturday morning at his home near Franklin after an illness of a few months. Mr. Beale had made Southampton County his home all his life and was the son of the late Harrison and Tabitha Johnson Beale. He was a consistent member of Joyner’s Christian Church near Franklin. He is survived by three sons, Emmett Beale, of Sedley; Irving Beale, of Richmond, and Mills Beale, Jr. of Franklin; three daughters, Mrs. Walter Cobb, of Sedley; Mrs. Joseph Cutchin*, of Franklin, and Mrs. L.A. Blythe, of Suffolk; nine grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. Services were conducted Sunday afternoon at 3:30 o’clock from Joyners Church by the Rev. R.E. Brittle and the Rev. S.W. Wilkinson. Interment was in Poplar Spring Cemetery here with the following pallbearers: E.P. Jones, Harry Steinhardt, Jas. I. Beale, J. Edgar Weede, W.O. Bristow, J.W. Cotton, Hunter Blythe and V.C. Lankford. Relatives and friends were honorary bearers.
