All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/va/vafiles.htm ************************************************ JAMES THOMAS DRAKE AND NANCY SUE DRAKE BAILEY BROTHER AND SISTER DIE ONE DAY APART Mrs. Nancy Sue Drake Bailey, aged 54, wife of Clifton Thomas Bailey of Newsoms and sister of James Thomas Drake, died Monday morning, March 24, at her home near Newsoms after an illness of several months. The daughter of the late Thomas and Mrs. Caroline Burgess Drake, Mrs. Bailey was long an active member of Barnes Church. She is survived by her husband, Clifton Thomas Bailey; a son, Alton T. Bailey; two daughters, Miss Virginia Drake Bailey and Mrs. Spurgeon Beale of Franklin; a brother, Rufus Drake of Newsoms; three sisters, Miss Carrie Drake and Mrs. Ella Bradshaw of Newsoms and Mrs. Joe Bryant of Lasker, N.C., and three grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted at the grave in the Newsoms cemetery Tuesday afternoon at 4:30 o’clock by her pastor, Rev. John W. Morrison. The pallbearers, all nephews of the deceased, were Andrew Drake, R.E. Drake, Jr., Harry Drake, Dave T. Drake, Perry Bryant and Harcum Bailey. "Nannie" Nancy Sue (DRAKE; Mrs. Clifton T.)
