Bell, who had been a resident of Ivor for a number of years. He was born September 22, 1841, in Isle of Wight County, and lived to a ripe old age of nearly 86 years. He served gallantly in the Civil War, being another Confederate veteran of the "Thin gray line" to pass out. He was married July 13, 1875, to Miss Sallie Gillette of this county and spent his married life in Ivor, his wife preceding him to the grave in 1904. Their union was blessed with three children, Mrs. T.A. Saunders of Ivor and James Q. Bell of Mullins S.C., and Mrs. S.T. Kello of Courtland, the latter dying in February of this year. Besides his two children, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild survive. He was a charter member of Ivor Baptist Church and served as deacon in the church until sixteen years ago he moved to Mullins, S.C., where he lived with his son and where his death occurred. The funeral services were conducted in the home of his daughter, Mrs. T.A. Saunders, by his Pastor, Rev. Dr. Wheeler of Mullins, S.C., assisted by Rev. R.D. Stephenson of Franklin, a former pastor, and Rev. W.M. Hall of Ivor. He was a Mason, the burial service being conducted by the local lodge. Interment took place in the family burial ground at Ivor. Many beautiful flowers were placed on his grave, showing love and sympathy for the departed one. The body bearers were: Messrs. Stalvey and Jolly of Mullins, S.C., W.C. Rawls, B.H. Lane, L.C. Pulley and L.T. Saunders of Ivor. ****************************************************************************** News of Twenty-five Years Ago August 12, 1927 Robert P.
