Bailey, died at her home near Newsoms after a brief illness, Monday morning, June 29, in the 53rd year of her life. Funeral service were conducted at the grave and interment was made in the Newsoms cemetery. Besides her husband, she is survived by eight children: B.E., Charlie and Ralph Bailey, Mrs. Roy Ferguson, Mrs. J.O. Harrell, Misses Nellie and Janie Bailey, all of the home community, and Mrs. Ray Brett of Petersburg; two brothers, Thomas Adkins of Norfolk and Sam Adkins of Nashville, Tenn. *ATKINS in original corrected to ADKINS throughout, though ATKINS is given in some other records.
