Bailey, 82, of Route 1, a retired farmer, died Monday in Southampton Memorial Hospital. He was a native of Southampton County. He was a member of Buckhorn Baptist Church, Como, NC. Survivors include his wife, Ida Stephenson Bailey; a daughter, Emma Ruth Dunlow, and two sons, Robert Granville Bailey and James Dillard Bailey, all of Franklin; two sisters, Mae B. Jenkins of Portsmouth and Adelle B. Worrell of Newsoms; a brother, Howard Bailey of Newsoms; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The funeral will be conducted at 2 pm Thursday in Wright Funeral Home by the Rev. Durward Vaughan. Burial will Be in Southampton Memorial Park.
