Kenneth Williams. Burial was in Poplar Spring Cemetery. Pallbearers were Harry Barrett Jr., Bill Hinkle, Walter L. Young Sr., Aubrey Lankford, Marvin Worrell, Jimmy Daughtrey, Hunter Darden Jr. and Vaughan Beale. Beale died Friday in his home. He was a native of Southampton County and the husband of Mrs. Eva Wilson Beale. He was a charter member of Sunbeam Baptist Church and a retired farmer. Other survivors include one son, Walter Beale III* of Franklin; one stepdaughter, Rebecca M. Edwards of Franklin; two stepsons, Ben Myrick of Falls Church and Dwight Myrick of Poplin; two sisters, Janie B. Young of Franklin and Dana B. Gulley of Goldsboro, N.C. and three grandchildren.
