Berkley Garnett. Burial was in Tucker Swamp Church cemetery, Zuni. Pallbearers were James Beasley, Paige Pulley, Marion Raiford, Willie Kitchen, Gurnie Britt, Narvie Britt, Thomas Pulley and Aubrey Worrell. Billups, 72, died Sunday morning in Louise Obici Memorial Hospital, Suffolk. A native of Nansemond County, he was the husband of Mrs. Mary Copeland Billups and a son of Joseph Robert and Mrs. Cornelia Rountree Billups. He was a retired farmer. Besides his widow, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Joseph M. Rawls of Great Bridge and Mrs. Edward F. McDermott of Providence, R.I.; six sons, Alfred L. Billups of Ivor, J. Joseph Billups and Earl M. Billups of Franklin, Kenneth Raymond Billups of Virginia Beach and Frank E. Billups of Belhaven, N.C. and 16 grandchildren.
