JOSEPH H. BLICK, JR.

   Joseph H. Blick, son of Dr. J.A. and Lucy Trotter Blick, was born in 
Brunswick County, Va., February 11, 1872, and died in a hospital in Norfolk, 
November 23, 1922. The interment was at the old Drewry home near Drewryville 
and burial service was conducted by Rev. S.G. Callison.

   On July 20, 1897, he was married to Miss Lula Drewry of Drewryville. To this 
union was born four children. He is survived by his wife and three children; 
Mrs. S.A. Harvey of Norfolk and Misses Elsie and Margaret Blick; two sisters, 
Mrs. H.A. Davis of Henderson, N.C., and Mrs. H.A. Cheeley of Petersburg. At the 
time of his death he was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 85, of Courtland.

   He was a kind father and neighbor and was a telegraph operator until about 
eight years ago, when he came home and devoted his time to farming. He also 
served six years as magistrate with credit to himself and the welfare of the 
community.

   He was a member of Thomas Memorial Baptist Church and served as deacon from 
1911 to the time of his death.

   Whereas, God in His infinite wisdom has seen best to take from us our friend 
and brother, therefore be it resolved:

First, That we extend to the bereaved family and friends our deepest sympathy 
and commend them to the Father’s loving care.

Second, That a copy of these resolutions be spread upon the church record, a 
copy sent to the Tidewater News and one to the bereaved family.
